About 911 Restoration of Allentown
Meet the Owner:
911 Restoration Lehigh Valley owners Dan and Kathy Cicchino have been in the business of septic clean-up and home restoration for 11 years. They opened their branch in early 2015 to expand their business and offer more services to their clients.
“There’s some really big competitors in the area,” Dan remarks, “but we have the special touch.” Kathy adds that their oldest son has recently started helping out his parents with the family business. “It’s nice to go to work with your family, and then come home to your family!”
Remediate water damage is not always a daisies-and-roses affair. Dan expresses his frustration at contractors who don’t really listen to homeowners.
“Some experts think it’s enough to just come in and go about their job without consulting with the client. I disagree.” Kathy adds that her husband is one of the best listeners in the business.
If you want a professional who will listen to what you need in time of crisis, give Dan and Kathy Cicchino a call. In their spare time, they enjoy horseback riding and throwing BBQ parties with family, but “no matter how busy we are, we always pick up our phone.”
Water and Disaster Prevention Tips
Having started out as a septic service company, Dan and Kathy have plenty to say when it comes to your septic tank. “Most people ignore septic maintenance because domestic waste is, literally, a dirty business,” Kathy says.
Nevertheless, if properly taken care of, a septic tank can last a family for 20-30 years. Here are some tips from the expert on how to maintain your septic tank:
- Pump your septic tank every 3-5 years using a certified pumper.
- The more people in your household, the more frequent you’ll need to pump your tank.
- Converse water will not only save on your water bills, but lengthen the life of your septic system.
- Install low-flow fixtures on your faucets and showerheads.
- Don’t run your dishwasher and washing machine at the same time.
- Go easy on your garbage disposal.

A professional is one who listens
When contractors don’t listen, they ignore key information that can help them address a homeowner’s concern. “I always make sure I understand what is the issue, and how my client wants to fix it,” Dan says.
Dan prides himself on his listening skill. “It’s important to be patient and trust-worthy,” he says.
Despite facing a great number of big business competitors, Kathy and Dan are confident their company will do well.
“We provide real service,” Kathy adds, “we don’t treat our clients like a number. We know we are not servicing houses, but helping people who could be our neighbors.”
